IDW Publishing let me read the first issue of the new Star Wars Adventures comic book series early, and I was so thrilled for the opportunity!
Star Wars Adventures takes place between the films The Last Jedi and The Rise of Skywalker. This first issue kicks off with Finn and Poe taking Rey to a remote planet to help her with her Jedi training. BB-8 is along for the ride too, of course. Things don't go exactly as the boys planned, of course!
The issue also includes a story about Darth Vader invading Echo Base, adding another dimension to the scene you've seen a million times in The Empire Strikes Back!
This series is perfect for younger readers, or anyone like me who is dying for more content to fill in the gaps between movies! As much as I would love to see a live action version of Finn and Poe "helping" Rey with her training, that doesn't seem realistic, and a comic series will be a great way to tell that story.
Look for Star Wars Adventures #1 at your local comic shop on October 7th!
